Frame Inspection

By now your frame should be complete in accordance with the ‘Frame Stage’ definition in you building contract.

As well as the basics, we also inspect the critical areas such as the bracing and tie downs. These are critical structural aspects of your new home investment. These are the bones of your home, the guts. It’s what keeps it standing during storms and freak weather events.

We check that the entire frame is correctly fixed in accordance with the legal requirements. We consider the quality of workmanship to check that the critical aspects such as bracing are not just in place but are also effective in performing their specific purpose. Good workmanship equals strength.

Included also, is an inspection of the building perimeter and slab edge. It’s concerning how often we see steel reinforcing mesh exposed due to insufficient concrete cover and air pockets caused by under vibration of the wet concrete during placement.

The finishes of your home, such as tile choices and cabinetry, are merely cosmetic and won’t help during storms and freak weather events. Remember, once it’s covered over with plasterboard and brickwork it cannot be inspected.

Give yourself peace of mind by ensuring your NBC inspection package includes a ‘Frame inspection’.
